India is assured of 4 more medals at the Asian Boxing Championships

Four Indian fighters, including three ladies, progressed to the elimination rounds with noteworthy triumphs as India's guaranteed award count expanded to 12 in the Asian Championships here. 

Sanjeet (91kg), Sakshi (54kg), Jaismine (57kg) and the Olympic-bound Simranjit Kaur (60kg) joined Shiva Thapa (64kg) in the last four phase following late-night wins in their quarterfinal sessions on Tuesday. 

They added to the seven awards, including that of six-time title holder MC Mary Kom (51kg), that were guaranteed upon the arrival of draws. 

India Open gold-champ Sanjeet crushed Jasur Qurbonov of Tajikistan 5-0 to enter the elimination rounds in the men's draw alongside Thapa. 

His next adversary is last version's silver-medallist Sanjar Tursunov of Uzbekistan who has been cultivated third this year. 

In the ladies' opposition, Sakshi (54kg) improved of Tajikistan's Ruhafzo Haqazarova 5-0 to set up a conflict against favorite Dina Zholaman of Kazakhstan. 

Jaismine edged past Oyuntsetseg Yesugen of Mongolia 4-1 and will presently face Vladislava Kukhta of Kazakhstan. 

Simranjit, who as of late recuperated from COVID-19, crushed Raykhona Kodirova of Uzbekistan 4-1. Her next rival is additionally a Kazakh in Rimma Volossenko.
