In November, Diesel had shared a still of their characters from The Fate of the Furious on Instagram and told his "younger sibling" Johnson that "the opportunity has arrived". He added that he guaranteed Pablo (Vin Diesel's moniker for Paul Walker) that he would make the best Fast and Furious finale.
"I say this out of affection… however you should appear, don't leave the establishment inactive you play a vital part to play," Diesel proceeded.
Johnson, in a CNN meet, said: "I told [Diesel] straightforwardly that I would not be getting back to the establishment. I was firm at this point welcoming with my words and said that I would forever be steady of the cast and consistently pull for the establishment to be effective, however that there was no way I would return," he said.
He added, "Vin's new open post was an illustration of his control. I would really rather avoid that he raised his kids in the post, just as Paul Walker's demise. Let them well enough alone. We had spoken months prior with regards to this and came to a reasonable arrangement."
Johnson entered the establishment with 2011's Fast Five as a specialist of the Diplomatic Security Service. He repeated the job in 2013's Fast and Furious 6, 2015's Furious 7 (2015) and 2017's The Fate of the Furious.
The fans didn't have the foggiest idea what was happening in the background. We got the principal whiff of the stars' disparities when Johnson shared an extremely noteworthy post on Instagram. Also the fight became public. The currently erased post read, "My female co-stars are continually stunning and I love them. My male co-stars anyway are an alternate story. Some behave as stand up men and genuine experts, while others don't. The ones that don't are too chicken s**t to do anything about it in any case. Candy a**es. At the point when you watch this film next April and it appears as though I'm not acting in a portion of these scenes and my blood is genuine bubbling—you're correct."
Afterward, while addressing Vanity Fair, Johnson said that while he implied what he said, he laments posting it on an online media stage. "It caused a firestorm. However strangely enough… [it was] as though each and every team part tracked down their direction to me and either unobtrusively said thanks to me or sent me a note In any case, no doubt, it wasn't my greatest day, sharing that. I shouldn't have shared that. Since by the day's end, that conflicts with my DNA. I don't share things like that. What's more I deal with that sort of bulls**t away from people in general," said the hotshot.
Discussing a resulting meeting with his previous co-star, Johnson said, "He (Diesel) and I had a decent visit in my trailer, and it was out of that talk that it truly turned out to be simply completely clear that we are two separate finishes of the range. Also consented to leave it there."
While Johnson would not do F9, he featured in the side project film Hobbs and Shaw close by Jason Statham.
Prior in 2021, Vin Diesel said that the justification behind the animosity between them was a result of the "genuine affection" he was providing for Johnson to draw out his best execution.
In a meeting with Men's Health, Diesel said, "It was an intense person to epitomize, the Hobbs character. My methodology at the time was a great deal of strong but fair affection to help with getting that presentation where it should have been. As a maker to say, 'OK, we will take Dwayne Johnson, who's related with wrestling, and we will drive this realistic world, crowd individuals, to view his person as somebody that they don't have a clue' – Hobbs hits you with a crushing weight. That is something that I'm pleased with, that stylish. That took a great deal of work. We needed to arrive and once in a while, around then, I could give a great deal of strong but fair affection. Not Felliniesque, but rather I would do anything I'd need to do to get exhibitions in anything I'm delivering."
Reacting to the remarks, Johnson told Vanity Fair, "One piece of me feels like it's basically impossible that I would elevate any of that bulls**t with a response. Yet, here's reality. I've been there, done that a great deal of times. Not at all like him, I didn't come from the universe of theater. Also, you know, I came up diversely and was raised in an unexpected way. What's more I came from something else altogether and climate. What's more I go into each venture giving it my everything. What's more assuming I feel that there's certain things that should be settled up and dealt with and dealt with, then, at that point, I do it. Also it's just basic. So when I read that, very much like every other person, I giggled. I chuckled hard. We as a whole chuckled."
