
CHENNAI: The 44th Chess Olympiad to be held in July-August close to here will stamp the presentation of Olympic-style light transfer which will be run in front of the show-stopper each version, the world overseeing body of the game reported on Tuesday.
Such a hand-off will continuously start from India - - the origination of chess - - and will traverse all landmasses prior to arriving at the host city.

The dates and courses of the light transfer will be reported not long after meeting with the public authority, FIDE and different partners, Olympiad occasion chief Bharat Singh Chauhan said in an official statement.
"This drive will help in promoting the round of chess and arousing the help of fans across the world," FIDE President Arkady Dvorkovich said.
"Beginning from the following version of the Olympiad, in accordance with the practices of the Olympic Games, the light will traverse all landmasses visiting FIDE part regions, at last finishing in the host nation and city in front of the kickoff of the Chess Olympiad," he added.

India will have the Chess Olympiad unexpectedly.
"It is for sure an enormous distinction for the country. How Athens affects the Olympics is the way India will be to the chess local area," Chauhan said.
The 44th Chess Olympiad will be held in Mahabalipuram close to here from July 28 to August 10. A record 343 groups in open and ladies' segments from 187 nations have proactively entered for the competition.
