
ISLAMABAD (PAKISTAN): Former Pakistan top state leader Imran Khan's party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has declared that it will currently hold its "Haqeeqi Azadi jalsa" rally in Lahore on August 13.
The party had before declared to hold the meeting at Islamabad's Parade Ground.
Azhar Mashwani of the PTI said that party boss Imran Khan after a political panel meeting with other party individuals has chosen to move the setting of the convention from Islamabad's Parade Ground to the Lahore Hockey Ground, the Dawn detailed.
"The choice was taken by director Imran Khan in a gathering today after the party found out about the national government's "lacking" plans for festivities on Independence Day," Mashwani said on Monday.
"The pleased Pakistanis of Lahore will commend the 75th Independence Day in a great way at Hockey Stadium Lahore," he said, adding that Imran Khan will go to the convention and address the allies too.
As per sources, the adjustment of PTI's arrangement comes after Pakistan Interior priest Rana Sanaullah cautioned the PTI of "desperate results" in the event that its laborers upset rule of peace and law or turned to viciousness during the party's August 13 convention in Islamabad.
"PTI boss endorsed the proposition to sort out the convention in Lahore rather than Islamabad in the midst of fears that the national government could make snags," sources said.
Prior, on August 6, PTI reported that it will hold a public get-together in Islamabad on August 14. Afterward, the party pronounced through its Twitter handle that it will hold the convention on the country's Independence Day.
On Sunday, the PTI boss had said that he would declare a technique to "counter this one party rule" during the August 13 meeting, the Dawn detailed.
