Croatia vs Canada Highlights: Croatia go top with 4-1 win, Canada eliminated

Delhi, India:Canada's festival for their absolute first objective in quite a while's Reality Cup didn't keep going long as they crashed out of the FIFA World Cup 2022 in the wake of experiencing a 1-4 loss against Croatia in their second Gathering F game on Sunday.Alphonso Davies scored the game-tying goal in the second minute to give Canada a perfect start, but Croatia came back to win a crushing comeback victory.

After losing both of their group matches thus far, Canada became the second team to be eliminated from the tournament, joining hosts Qatar.

With four points from two games, Croatia leads the group, ahead of Morocco, who beat Belgium 2-0 earlier in the day, on goal difference. Croatia scored two goals in each half.Global No.2 Canada is at the bottom of the table, and Belgium is third with three points.

For Croatia, Andrej Kramaric scored twice in the 36th and 70th minutes, while substitute Lovro Majer scored in the 94th and 44th minutes, respectively.

Alphonso Davies' header gave the 2018 runners-up a 68-second lead at the Khalifa International Stadium, but two goals late in the first half turned a potentially bleak evening in their favor.

Kramaric and Marko Livaja scored before the half to put Canada out of their misery and put an end to speculation that this Croatia team lacked a killer instinct after their gloomy opening match with Morocco. After the break, Kramaric doubled his score, and Lovro Majer scored in the final minute to secure the victory.

After failing to score in their previous World Cup appearance, in 1986, Canada had jumped out of the starting gate with the quickest goal of the tournament thus far and their first of the tournament.

A long leeway from the guardian in the end found its direction to Tajon Buchanan, who molded a brilliant cross from the squarely into the container where Davies was showing up like an express train to ascend high over his marker and head effectively down into the net.

However, Croatia shifted into gear after initially being thoroughly outplayed, making it a half of two halves.

They were level in the 36th minute when Kramaric scored with a first-time shot into the far corner after Ivan Perisic, a growing influence on the left, passed the ball through.

Eight minutes later, after being fed by Mateo Kovacic, Livaja fired a right-footed low shot into the net from the edge of the area following a lovely buildup from the back.

When Kramaric took control of a curling cross from Perisic on the left, he shifted the ball to his left foot and shot it low into the bottom corner in the 70th minute, ending Canada's chances of getting back into the game.

Croatia struck back in the final minute when Mislav Orsic broke free and squared unselfishly for Livaja to tap home.

To secure a spot in the knockout stages, Croatia only needs to draw their final match against Belgium, who finished third.Canada was eliminated from the group stage after two defeats, and their final matchup will be against Morocco.
