India permits the export of rice with letters of credit already in place

India allows rice exports backed by already issued letters of credit

MUMBAI: India said it will permit cargoes of white and earthy colored rice supported by letters of credit gave before September 9 to be delivered abroad, an action that furnishes a help to exporters wrestling with new government checks.

The world's greatest exporter of rice on September 8 restricted commodities of broken rice and forced a 20% obligation on products of different grades as it tried to support homegrown stockpile and quiet neighborhood costs after sub optimal storm precipitation diminished planting.

The unexpected move caught almost 1 million tons of rice at ports or which had been on the way before the public authority made the declaration.
