Rehan Ahmed: The spin sensation who helped England whitewash Pakistan


 Delhi, India: Rehan Ahmed, a teen sensation who became England's youngest Test debutant, stole the show with his debut fifer on Day 3 of the third and final Test against Pakistan. The visitors won the match with a memorable 3-0 whitewash, and the match was a memorable success.


England became the first team to sweep Pakistan on their own turf by winning the Karachi Test by eight wickets.


Rehan, who made his England debut in the final Test, stole the show with his powerful leg-spin bowling. In his first game, he took seven wickets, including five for 48 (second innings), which helped England win the series.


With the fifer in the second innings, 18-year-old Rehan surpassed Australia's Pat Cummins' previous record for the youngest debutant in men's Test history to take five wickets in a single innings.

Naeem Ahmed, the former cricketer who is the father of Rehan, was born in Pakistan. Before moving to England, he played as a fast-bowling all-rounder. Rehan tried to become a seamstress before turning to leg-spin because he wanted to be like his father when he was younger.


Rehan joined Leicestershire in 2017 from Nottinghamshire's youth program. Rehan had only played three first-class matches before making his debut against Pakistan in May 2022, when he took a fifer and scored a century.


The teen all-rounder also played for the England U19 team at the 2022 World Cup in the West Indies, where he took 12 wickets and played in four of the six matches.


Rehan first impressed the coaches while playing for the England Lions in a three-day warm-up match against the England Test squad in Abu Dhabi. During the England vs. West Indies Test series, he was also invited to bowl at the nets, where he clean bowled Ben Stokes.


In April of this year, the Southern Braves also purchased Rehan for the 2022 season in The Hundred.
