WhatsApp launches a new Avatar feature: Here's everything you need to know

The ability to personalize avatars is a new feature that WhatsApp is introducing. Use it and set it up in these steps.

WhatsApp is launching a new feature that lets users customize their digital avatars by choosing from a variety of outfit, hairstyle, and facial feature combinations. Meta's Messenger, Facebook, and Instagram apps for users already have avatars, and they are now coming to WhatsApp as well.

The new WhatsApp Avatar can also be used as a profile picture, as stated in the blog post. One of the 36 individualized stickers that are based on the actions and feelings of the user's avatar will be available for selection. Once created, users will be able to send and share these avatars with friends and family.

WhatsApp has stated that, in order to improve the overall experience, they will be adding a number of new features, such as lighting, hairstyle textures, shading, and other customization options. Since WhatsApp Avatars begin their gradual rollout to users today, it may take some time before they are available on your device. However, the Avatar option was accessible to us on both iOS and Android versions of WhatsApp.

WhatsApp has added polls, Communities, a message-yourself feature, and the ability to use the same account on two Android devices in recent weeks.

How to Use Avatars on WhatsApp Simply select the Stickers option when opening a WhatsApp chat. On iOS, you can select a sticker within a chat box—the area where you type your message. Tap the emoji symbol in the chatbot on Android, and a sticker option should appear at the bottom, next to the GIF search keyboard.

When you select the stickers option within a chat, the app will display any Avatars that are visible on your device. On both iOS and Android, it did so for us. Simply tap on Avatars, and you'll be required to make one.

You will be prompted to begin the process of creating an avatar for WhatsApp on a new page that will open. Click "Get Started."

You will now have the option to select your skin tone, then your hairstyle, face, eyes, and so on. Simply tap "Done" in the upper right corner to save changes after you've finished creating your avatar. You can also open the front camera on WhatsApp to make sure your avatar looks better.

Save when you're finished. WhatsApp will make stickers based on the new avatar and update your avatar. This takes a few minutes to occur.

Stickers should appear once they are ready, and you can immediately share them in any chat.
