Prince Harry describes their physical altercation over Meghan Markle. "Called her tough, rude..."

Prince Harry shares intimate details about the royal family in his autobiography Spare. After Harry and Meghan Markle got married in 2018, they split from the royal family.

Spare, Prince Harry's autobiography, has yet to be published, but the highly personal book has already caused a stir and garnered attention. Harry describes a heated encounter with Prince William, his estranged older sibling, in an exclusive excerpt published by The Guardian.

Concerning Harry's wife, former actor Meghan Markle, the two argued. Harry's book says that William started a fight with him verbally by calling Meghan "difficult," "rude," and "abrasive." Harry, irritated, stated that he had higher expectations for William and that he was "parrot[ing] the press narrative" regarding his American wife.

Harry claimed that William knocked him to the ground, causing him to sustain a back injury and bruises, during the physical altercation that followed the argument. Harry wrote at one point that William claimed to be "helping him." Which Harry replied: Are you joking? Can you help me? I'm sorry, but is that what you mean? assisting me?” It would appear that this was enough for William to get physical with Harry: He came at me after calling me a different name and putting the water down. It happened so quickly. So quickly. He knocked me to the ground after grabbing me by the collar and snatching my necklace. When I landed on the dog's bowl, it broke under my back, cutting me in half. After a brief period of dazed laying there, I stood up and ordered him to leave.

William told Harry to keep the fight between them and not tell "Meg" (Meghan Markle) as they left his house. Harry claimed that he did not immediately inform his wife of the events, but he did call his therapist. Harry said that she wasn't surprised but was "very sad" when Markle got him to tell her what had happened after discovering his injuries.

These kinds of revelations are scattered throughout Spare, Harry's autobiography. The title of the book refers to the royal term for a younger member of the family. If the oldest son is unable to take the "throne," the "spare" is called upon to take control in the event of an unfortunate occurrence.

In 2016, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle met, and they got married in Windsor Castle, UK, two years later. Trouble broke out in paradise soon after they got married, and Meghan and Harry left their position as monarchs and moved to Canada and then California. The alleged racist behavior that Harry and Meghan had toward Markle and the media's incessant mockery of the former Suits actress were largely to blame for their split from the royal family.
