The A350 paint issue has been resolved, according to Airbus, and the grounded aircraft will shortly resume normal operations

A350 paint issue: Airbus says reached settlement with Qatar Airways; grounded planes to fly again soon

Delhi, India: After issues with the Airbus A350's paint, Qatar Airways and Airbus have settled their dispute. “Both parties look forward to getting these aircraft safely back in the air,” Airbus stated in a statement on Wednesday. A repair project is currently underway.

“In relation to their legal dispute regarding the A350 surface degradation and the grounding of A350 aircraft, Qatar Airways and Airbus are pleased to have reached an amicable and mutually agreeable settlement.... The parties will now cease their legal claims, and the terms of the settlement will be kept private. There is no admission of responsibility for either party in the settlement agreement. Airbus stated, "This agreement will enable Qatar Airways and Airbus to move forward and collaborate as partners."

Some of Qatar Airways' A350s were grounded in 2021, and the airline demanded $2 lakh in damages per day for each grounded aircraft. In retaliation, the major aerospace company in Europe canceled Qatar Airways' order for 50 A321 aircraft, which was worth more than $6 billion.
