There is no evidence linking the three US-downed devices to the Chinese surveillance balloon operation. Biden

No indication that three objects shot down by US linked to Chinese spy balloon programme: Biden

WASHINGTON: According to US President Joe Biden's statement on Thursday, the three high-flying objects that were shot down over the American and Canadian airspace this month were most likely connected to private businesses, recreation, or research institutions rather than the Chinese balloon program.

In his first speech since a Chinese balloon was shot down in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of South Carolina, Biden made this statement at the White House. American fighter jets shot down three additional high-flying objects, two in the United States and one in Canada.

"In order to learn more about these three objects, the military forces of the United States and Canada are attempting to recover the debris. All three incidents are still being evaluated by the intelligence community. "He will communicate that to the Congress," Biden stated. "They are reported to him daily and will continue their urgent efforts to do so."

He stated, "We don't yet know exactly what these three objects were, but nothing right now suggests they were related to China's spy balloon program or that they were surveillance vehicles from any other country." He added, "We don't yet know exactly what these three objects were."

"These three objects were most likely balloons tied to private companies, recreation, or research institutions studying the weather or conducting other scientific research," Biden stated. "The intelligence community's current assessment is that these three objects were most likely balloons."

The President stated that he instructed the intelligence community to investigate the phenomenon of unidentified aerial objects broadly upon taking office. We are aware that a variety of entities, including nations, businesses, and research organizations, operate objects at high altitudes for legitimate scientific research and other legitimate purposes. I need to be precise. "We don't have any evidence that the number of objects in the sky has suddenly increased," he stated.

"The steps we've taken to narrow our radars are one reason we're now seeing more of them. In order to deal with these obstacles, we must continue to modify our strategy. As a result, he stated, "I have directed my team to come back to me with sharper rules for how we will deal with these unidentified objects moving forward, separating those that are likely to pose safety and security risks that necessitate action from those that do not."

At the same time, Biden stated that the United States will shoot down anything that poses a threat to American security.

"I will remove any object that poses a threat to the safety and security of the American people. In order to prevent our adversaries from attempting to circumvent our defenses, he stated, "I'll share these classified policy parameters with the Congress when they are completed, and they will remain classified."

The President provided specifics about the policy parameters and stated that he had instructed his national security advisor to lead a government-wide effort to ensure that they are in a position to deal with objects in US airspace safely and effectively.

"To begin, we will improve and ensure the accessibility and up-to-date inventory of unmanned airborne objects in space above United States airspace. Second, we'll take more steps to make it easier for us to find unmanned aircraft in our airspace. Thirdly, Biden stated, "We will update the regulations for launching and maintaining unmanned objects in the skies above the United States of America."

"In this largely unregulated space, he stated, the Secretary of State will lead an effort to assist in establishing a common global norm." The skies will be safer and more secure as a result of these measures for ground personnel, scientists, and air travelers alike.

"As the events of the previous days have demonstrated, we will always take action to safeguard the security and interests of the American people." We've been able to identify, track, and study high altitude surveillance balloons connected to the Chinese military since I took office," Biden stated.
