Karol Swiderski of Poland wins 1-0 over Albania in Euro qualifiers

Poland's Karol Swiderski secures 1-0 win over Albania in Euro qualifiers

Delhi, India: In the matchup between Poland and Albania for the Euro 2024 qualifiers on Monday, Poland's Karol Swiderski scored the winning goal. Poland now has their first Group E points from the Euro 2024 qualifiers thanks to this victory.

Swiderski scored the game-winning goal in the 41st minute, curling a low shot into the net after Jakub Kaminski's free kick hit the post and Poland lost to Czech Republic 3-1 in their opening match.

In the 63rd, Robert Lewandowski broke free and fired from close range, but his shot was cleared off the line after being well-marked by the Albania defense.

In the 84th, the Poland striker had another chance, but his shot from a distance went just wide of the goal.

Myrto Uzuni, an Albanian winger, nearly equalized two minutes from time with a shot that missed the left post and sent chills through the home crowd.

Swiderski stated to Polish television station TVP Sport, "In our minds there is only qualifying, so this victory today was our task to complete, and fortunately we did it because we took a step forward."

"We played some nice football in the first half, and there were also some nice moments in the second half." It was unfortunate that it became nervous toward the end, but fortunately we prevailed."

Czech Republic drew 0-0 with Moldova in the other Group E match to maintain their lead over Poland in the standings.
