If you want to limit or control the number of people who can join a group, the most recent WhatsApp feature is helpful.
WhatsApp introduced group chats in 2011. The way we participate in group chats has changed over time, and several new features have been added. Now, according to a recent WABetaInfo report, the instant messaging platform is introducing a new approval feature for group chat administrators.
The new feature, which is available in the most recent beta version of WhatsApp for iOS and Android, makes it simple for group administrators to manage participants in a group chat. When enabled, users will see a message in the group chat indicating that new members, even if they have an invite link, will need to obtain administrator approval before joining the group.
Administrators who want to control who joins a group or public communities with a large number of participants will appreciate the option to approve new members. Simply go to the group setting and select the "Approve New Participants" option to access the new setting. Once you turn it on, you're good to go.
The ability to approve new group chat participants is currently being rolled out by WhatsApp, so you might have to wait a while for it to be available on your device. A new split view interface for Android tablets and a call link feature for the Windows version of the app were added earlier this month.
