US declares $350 million in supplies and munitions for Ukraine

US announces $350 million in ammunition and supplies for Ukraine

WASHINGTON: As part of a larger effort by Ukraine's allies to prevent the country from running out of artillery shells and missiles in the face of Russia's invasion, the United States announced a $350 million purchase of ammunition, river boats, and other equipment for the Ukrainian military.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken said in a statement that ammunition for HIMARS rocket-launcher systems, howitzers, and Bradley infantry vehicles were among the supplies that were announced on Monday. Additionally, anti-tank weapons are being sent.

Blinken stated, "We are again reminded of the boundless courage and steadfast resolve of the Ukrainian people, and the strong support for Ukraine across the international community" this week as Russia's unconscionable war of aggression against Ukraine continues at great human cost.

The aid is provided by current US stocks because it is subject to the Presidential Drawdown Authority. Ukraine, which uses an average of 60,000 to 210,000 rounds of ammunition each month, now has an urgent need for ammunition.

Prior Monday, European Association emissaries consented to an arrangement to back burning through €1 billion from the coalition's European Harmony Office to purchase ammo mutually. They supported spending an additional €1 billion from the same fund to reimburse Ukraine for modern and Soviet-era ammunition sent by member states.
