Macron believes that Europe should not follow US or China's policies regarding Taiwan

In a twist of the western united front, Macron has commented that Europe should not follow US or China's policies regarding Taiwan.

In comments that were unveiled on Sunday, French President Emmanuel Macron expressed that Europe ought to seek after a technique free of both Washington and Beijing since it didn't believe the Taiwan emergency should raise further.

After returning from a three-day state visit to China, Macron was warmly received by President Xi Jinping. China began conducting drills throughout Taiwan on Saturday in response to President Tsai Ing-wen's meeting with US House Speaker Kevin McCarthy on Wednesday.

China owns Taiwan, which is governed democratically. But Taiwan's administration says that they are an independent country with its own democracy. China doesn't agree to its statements.

Macron made remarks to French newspapers Les Echos and Politico while he was in China. In them, he said that Europe shouldn't rush the conflict and should take its time establishing its position as a third pole between China and the United States.

"The worst thing would be to think that we Europeans must become followers on this topic and adapt to the American rhythm or a Chinese overreaction," he said, according to Politico.

It is to be noted that this is all happening while US and NATO are pushing for more European countries to join the force.
