India has room to grow: Cisco

Delhi, India: Chairman and CEO Chuck Robbins informed Prime Minister Narendra Modi of Cisco's plans to invest heavily in India to encourage the manufacturing of telecom equipment there. The move comes at a time when 5G networks are being expanded by mobile operators and Digital India and electronics manufacturing are gaining momentum.

Robbins has been in India since May 7, and met Dependence Businesses director Mukesh Ambani, unfamiliar pastor S Jaishankar, and clergyman of state for IT and gadgets Rajeev Chandrasekhar.

He stated, "Cisco sees India as a growth opportunity over the decade," when discussing the establishment of manufacturing facilities in the nation that would serve not only the requirements of the market there but also exports and sourcing opportunities to Europe.

Prior to this, Cisco had started manufacturing in India with a focus on the domestic market. However, due to a lack of consistent demand and a supportive ecosystem, this had to be canceled. This time, the business wants to establish a network of local suppliers. As the next step in delivering cutting-edge technologies to our customers here and around the world, we are making strategic investments in Indian manufacturing capabilities. Robbins said that the development of telecom and computerized in India is provoking it to contribute more.

"India is a focal point of innovation and business for Cisco, fueled by a rapidly developing digital economy, and we remain deeply committed to our partnerships here." According to company officials, manufacturing operations in Tamil Nadu will focus on creating a robust supplier ecosystem. In addition to expanding its in-house repair operations, Cisco will expand its core manufacturing capabilities, which include logistics, testing, and development. According to Robbins, the company intends to increase exports and domestic production by more than $1 billion in the coming years.

There is a momentum here that did not exist before. This nation exudes ambition, and considering the state of the world, the rate of growth is impressive.
