2023 ICC ODI World Cup: Team India faces 9 sites and 9 unique obstacles

A brief glance at the ICC 2023 ODI World Cup plan delivered on Tuesday will show that the hosts - Group India - will do the greater part of the voyaging.

India, one of the ten nations competing, will host each of its nine league stage matches at a different location. That is 9 urban communities throughout the span of a little more than a month. India's first match is against Australia on October 8, and their final league stage match is against Qualifier 1. Two groups will join the 8 different groups by means of the qualifier competition, which is at present being played in Zimbabwe.

To ensure that as many Indian cricket fans as possible can catch their favorite players in action, the nine league stage matches have been scheduled in nine cities. However, this also means that Team India will need to quickly adjust to new environments and different opponents. examines the nine venues chosen to host India matches, as well as the pitches available there and India's past performances there:

Match 1

Date: Match on October 8: Where: India vs. Australia Time of the Chennai game: 2 p.m. IST: Australia, the most successful team in the ODI World Cup's history, will play Team India in the first match of the World Cup at the MA Chidambaram stadium in Chennai.

In an ODI played at this location in March of this year, Australia defeated India by 21 runs.

Pitch: Strong, dry track. Spinners get a ton of procurement. Will be fascinating to perceive how the Aussie quick bowlers do in this setting.

Most noteworthy ODI Score in Chennai: Pakistan - 327/5 versus India in 1997

India's most noteworthy ODI score in Chennai: 299/8 against South Africa in 2015; 14 ODIs played in Chennai for India; Won - 7; Lost - 6; NR - 1

WC Realistic

Match 2

Date: October 11

Match: Venue: India vs. Afghanistan When the Delhi match begins: 2 PM IST

India's subsequent match will be played in the Public Capital. The Arun Jaitley arena will play host to an India versus Afghanistan conflict on October 11. While India will go in as the top choices, various Afghan players will realize the circumstances well, having played here in the IPL.

Pitch: Great batting pitch, particularly in the main innings. Here, teams that bat first have a better record of victories. The highest ODI score in Delhi: West Indies-330/8 versus Netherlands in the 2011 WC

India's most noteworthy ODI score in Delhi: 289/6 against Australia in 1987; India has played 21 ODIs in Delhi; Won - 13; Lost - 7; NR - 1 Ahmedabad will host the India-Pakistan World Cup match; PCB says it will need approval from the government. Match 3 Date: Match on October 15th: Venue: India vs. Pakistan Time of the Ahmedabad game: India vs. Pakistan will once again be the tournament's biggest marquee match at 2 p.m. IST. Additionally, the World Cup match will be held in Ahmedabad, India, at the country's largest cricket stadium, which can hold 1.32 lakh spectators.

Interestingly, India's highest ODI score at this location was against Pakistan, but that was in the old Motera stadium. Will this reduce to an outdated India's batting versus Pakistan's bowling conflict?

Pitch: The soil pitches in this stadium are both black and red. Last track picked could be a level track to invalidate Pakistan's quick bowlers

Most noteworthy ODI Score in Ahmedabad: South Africa - 365/2 versus India in 2010

India's most elevated ODI score in Ahmedabad: 315/6 against Pakistan in 2005: India's ODI record in Ahmedabad: 18 played; Won - 10; ICC ODI World Cup Match 4: Lost by 8 points Match on October 19th: India versus Bangladesh

Setting: Pune

Match Start Time: 2 PM IST: In India's fourth league stage match, the team that blew India away in the 2007 ICC ODI World Cup will play the hosts in Pune. Which team's spinners perform better on the day will likely determine the outcome of this match.

Since Bangladesh also has talented spinners like Shakib Al Hasan, Mehidy Hasan, and Taijul Islam, this matchup will be interesting.

Pitch: Spinners are favored by the slow pitch.

Pune had the highest ODI score: India - 356/7 versus Britain in 2017

India's Record in ODIs in Pune: 7 games were played; Won - 4; Finished 3rd in the cricket match, lost Match 5: October 22

Match: India versus New Zealand

Scene: Start Time for the Dharamsala Game: 2 PM IST

Pitch: The track is quick and bounces well. Once set, batsmen can bat big. Dew may be a problem at night when illuminated. India must be wary of the Kiwi pacers at this venue, particularly Kyle Jamieson and Lockie Ferguson (assuming they are included in the final New Zealand squad). India - 330/6 versus West Indies in 2014

India's Record in ODIs in Dharamsala: Played - 4; Won - 2; Lost - 2

Match 6

Date: Match on October 29th: Where: India vs. England The Lucknow match will begin at: 2 PM IST

One more extreme counterpart for India. It's likely that the Men in Blue will challenge the defending champions. It will be interesting to see which spinners make the England squad because they will be needed against India at this location. For India, their objective will be to go after the forceful English players with their tweakers

Pitch: The Lucknow Super Giants, the home team, were hurt by the ineffectiveness of the IPL's run-scoring tracks. However, a brand-new square will be made for the World Cup.

Lucknow's highest ODI score: India's highest ODI score in Lucknow was 253/5 against Afghanistan in 2019: India's ODI record in Lucknow in 2022: 240/8 against South Africa 1 game played; Won - 0; 1 ODI World Cup 2023 loss: India will begin their campaign against Australia on October 8 in Chennai, Match 7 Date: Match on November 2: Venue: India vs. Qualifier 2 The Mumbai match will begin at: 2 PM IST

Virat Kohli has said he is truly anticipating playing a World Cup match in Mumbai. This is the setting - the Wankhede arena - where India won the 2011 ODI World Cup title by beating Sri Lanka in the last.

This could well be a conflict versus either Zimbabwe or Sri Lanka. There will be many recollections of the 2011 championship match if there is a contest with the Lankans. Regardless of the opposition, India will be the clear favorite in this contest.

Pitch: surfaces that are mostly flat and have good true bounce. Good for batting; Mumbai's highest ODI score: India's highest ODI score in Mumbai was 438/4 against South Africa in 2015. 299/4 versus Sri Lanka in 1987

India's Record in ODIs in Mumbai: 20 games played; Won - 11; Missed - 9 Match 8 Date: Match on November 5th: Venue: India vs. South Africa Kolkata

Match Start Time: 2 p.m. IST On November 5, the city of joy will host one of the most important India matches in this World Cup. It will be the India vs. South Africa match. Team India should be wary of the Protea pacers at this location because the Eden Gardens tracks help pacers more these days. The interesting part will the early assault, particularly assuming India are pursuing and batting under lights.

Pitch: Expect a track that helps pacers who keep a decent line and length. Once set, batsmen can score a lot. Kolkata's highest ODI score: India's record in ODI matches played in Kolkata: 404/5 against Sri Lanka in 2014. 22 games played; Won - 13; Lost - 8; NR - 1 cricket match2 Date of Match 9: Match on November 11th: Venue: India vs. Qualifier 1 Bengaluru

Match Start Time: 2 PM IST: One of the two teams that make it through the qualifying tournament, which is currently in progress, will play at a location that has some of the most enthusiastic Indian fans.

This could well be a conflict versus Zimbabwe or Sri Lanka. India is expected to win the match regardless.

Pitch: Ground with high scores. It is a bowler's nightmare with small boundaries and a true pitch. The highest ODI score in Bengaluru: India - 383/6 versus Australia in 2013

India's Record in ODIs in Bengaluru: 21 games played; Won - 14; Lost - 5; NR - 1
