8-year-old girl in US border patrol custody passes away

HARLINGEN: A 8-year-old young lady passed on Wednesday in Boundary Watch guardianship, specialists said, an uncommon event that comes as the office battles with congestion.

The Border Patrol's parent organization, US Customs and Border Protection, stated that the child and her family were being held at a station in Harlingen, Texas, in the Rio Grande Valley, one of the busiest routes for illegal crossings. The statement said that the girl had "a medical emergency" and was taken to a hospital nearby, where she died. The statement did not say her nationality or give any other details about the incident.

An official said that the internal affairs office of Customs and Border Protection will look into it. A spokesperson for the Harlingen police department, Sergeant Larry Moore, stated that he did not have any information regarding the death.

The Line Watch had 28,717 individuals in guardianship on May 10, the day preceding pandemic-related refuge limitations lapsed, which was twofold from about fourteen days sooner, as per a court recording. By Sunday, the number had dropped 23% to 22,259, still surprisingly high.
