Day 3 of the Adipurush box office haul: The film starring Prabhas and Kriti Sanon made more than Rs. 65 crore net in India and over Rs. 300 crore worldwide on its opening weekend, despite controversies.
Om Raut's epic Adipurush made an impressive Rs 129 crore (nett) during its first weekend at the box office, despite controversy and an announcement to change some of the dialogue. The movie starring Prabhas and Kriti Sanon came out on June 16 and received a wide range of mixed reviews. However, the film's box office numbers have not been affected by the trolling. On Sunday, Adipurush's day three box office haul totaled Rs 65 crore net. On Saturday afternoon, its makers had earlier tweeted its box office figures. Adipurush continues to captivate audiences all over the world, exceeding expectations with a record-breaking opening of 140 CR on Day One and adding 100 CR on Day Two to bring the total to a staggering 240 CR in just two days! In a tweet, T Series wrote, "Jai Shri Ram."
The producers likewise declared that they will eliminate specific discoursed that prompted offense in many pieces of India. Due to criticism of the film's disrespect for the epic Ramayan, its director Raut and dialogue writer Manoj Muntashir Shukla came forward. In a tweet, Shukla stated that despite his writing more than 4000 lines in Adipurush, "five lines" caused feelings to hurt.
I can present a plethora of arguments in support of my dialogues, but this will not alleviate your suffering. We have decided, together with the film's producer and director, that some of the hurtful dialogue will be changed and added to the movie this week. Everyone, may Shri Ram bless you!” he penned. He had previously stated that Adipurush was inspired by the epic rather than Ramayana.
"Team Adipurush in respect of Public Opinion, Revamps Dialogues for a Unifying Film Experience valuing the input of the Public and the Audience" was also stated in a statement issued by T Series. The dialogues are being altered in accordance with CBFC's recommendations.
Adipurush's visual effects have also drawn criticism. After the first look was released, the team had to put off making the movie for a few months to address complaints from the department. Prabhas plays Raghava, Kriti Sanon plays Janaki, and Saif Ali Khan plays Ravana in the epic film. The film also stars Sunny Singh and Devdatta Nage as Hanuman and Lakshman, respectively, and is said to have cost Rs 500 crore.
