Google will compensate Washington State with $39.9 million over its location tracking policies



Google will pay Washington state $39.9 million to determine a claim blaming the organization for misdirecting customers about its area following practices, state Principal legal officer Weave Ferguson said on Thursday.

In addition, Google, a division of Alphabet Inc., is required by the settlement to implement changes that increase transparency regarding its settings for location tracking.
