Jasprit Bumrah and Shreyas Iyer are likely to join the Indian team for the Asia Cup

Delhi, India: According to ESPNcricinfo, India's star bowler Jasprit Bumrah and batsman Shreyas Iyer want to make a comeback in the team for the Asia Cup 2023.

Due to a back injury, Bumrah hasn't played since September 2022, and as a result, he didn't play in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia.

Due to a back injury, he has been absent for eight to nine months. In New Zealand, Bumrah had surgery on his lower back in April. Bumrah was relieved of pain as a result of the successful medical procedure. He also did not play in the 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL).

While Shreyas made the decision in April to have back surgery for the recurring injury to his lower back. A herniated disc in his lower back was causing him constant discomfort. He was forced to cancel his participation in the final Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test in March in Ahmedabad as a result. After that, in May, he had surgery in London; he was told to rest, and he is continuing his rehabilitation. Due to the injury, he was unable to play in the final Test against Australia during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, and he also missed the ODI series.

ESPNcricinfo reports that both Shreyas and Bumrah players are currently recuperating at the NCA. The NCA medical staff is hopeful that both players will be available for the September Asia Cup. It is understood that Bumrah primarily practices physiotherapy, but he has recently begun light bowling work that will gradually increase. In contrast, Shreyas is currently receiving physiotherapy treatment.
