Due to a back injury, Bumrah hasn't played since September 2022, and as a result, he didn't play in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia.

ESPNcricinfo reports that both Shreyas and Bumrah players are currently recuperating at the NCA. The NCA medical staff is hopeful that both players will be available for the September Asia Cup. It is understood that Bumrah primarily practices physiotherapy, but he has recently begun light bowling work that will gradually increase. In contrast, Shreyas is currently receiving physiotherapy treatment.
