Indian woman slain in London; Brazilian neighbour is being held as a suspect

HYDERABAD/LONDON: Tejaswini Reddy Kontham, 27, a Hyderabadi living in the UK, was stabbed and killed on Tuesday in her flat in Wembley, London. Keven Antonio Lourenco De Morais, a 23-year-old Brazilian citizen who lived next door to Tejaswini, has been taken into custody as a possible suspect.

Akila, Tejaswini's 28-year-old roommate, is also thought to have been attacked by the assailant; however, Akila escaped with knife wounds and is currently in the hospital. The Alair family is from Telangana's Yadadri Bhuvagiri district.

The attack has not yet been motivated by anything, according to police investigators looking into the murder. They added that the London ambulance service received a call about the two women in their apartment lying in pools of blood around 10 a.m. BST on Tuesday.

According to Ramesh Katta, a London resident who is in touch with Tejaswini's family, Tejaswini attended Greenwich University and studied computer science. She and Akhila had both graduated from college and moved into a shared Wembley apartment. The Brazilian man and his girlfriend moved into the apartment a week ago. The family of Tejaswini is in shock. "We now learn about this tragedy because I only spoke with her on Tuesday morning," her mother stated.
