Missing helicopter in Nepal near Mount Everest has six people on board


KATHMANDU: A Manang Air helicopter with six individuals on board disappeared close to Mount Everest in Nepal on Tuesday, flight specialists said.

As per Tribhuvan Global Air terminal Senior supervisor Pratap Babu Tiwari, the chopper, with call sign 9N-AMV, went contactless 15 minutes into the flight.

According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal Information Officer Gyanendra Bhul, who was quoted by the Kathmandu Post newspaper, the helicopter left Surki in Solukhumbu at 9:45 a.m. to head toward Kathmandu, the capital city.

As indicated by introductory reports, the helicopter was conveying a sum of six people. According to a source, it was piloted by Senior Captain Chet Gurung, as stated by the Himalayan Times newspaper.
