MUMBAI: The Mumbai Cricket Association has decided that 26 Mumbai players—all of whom are likely to play for the senior team and some from the under-23 side—will participate in a two-week camp at a cutting-edge residential academy in Alur, near Bangalore, from July 16 to July 30 in order to prepare for the season because outdoor cricket is not possible during this time of year in the city due to the monsoons.
The choice was taken at a gathering at BKC on Wednesday between MCA secretary Ajinkya Naik and Mumbai's senior determination panel, drove by previous India pacer Raju Kulkarni. Veteran journalist Makarand Waingankar, who works as a consultant for the Karnataka State Cricket Association, praised the arrangement.
"It's an eminent office with pool, exercise center and three cricket grounds," a source said.
