According to a PTI report, Desai had defaulted on a Rs 252-crore credit to its monetary loan boss, and a liquidation court had conceded an indebtedness request against his organization last week. In 2016 and 2018, Desai's company, ND's Art World Pvt Ltd., borrowed Rs 185 crore from ECL Finance through two loans, and problems with repayment began in January 2020. In a request passed by NCLT, the all out default sum was Rs 252.48 crore as on June 30, 2022. Before the order was made, Desai's company responded by claiming that on May 7, 2021, there was a fire at the studio that destroyed property and blamed the creditors for sending a recovery notice on the same day.
