Advance box office for Dunki vs Salaar: Prabhas' epic action film is clearly inferior to Shah Rukh Khan's comic drama, which is ahead by more than Rs 1 crore

Dunki versus Salaar advance film industry: The pre-release business figures reveal a surprising trend: Shah Rukh Khan's comedy drama is doing better on Day 1 than Prabhas' epic action film.

The commencement is on for the super charged film industry conflict between two of the most expected Indian movies of 2023 — Rajkumar Hirani's Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Dunki and Prashanth Neel's Prabhas-starrer Salaar Section 1 - Truce. Tickets for Dunki, which opens on December 21, and Salaar, which opens a day later, are selling like hotcakes since advance reservations began recently.

However, the pre-release business figures reveal an unexpected trend: the epic action-thriller Salaar is doing better on Day 1 than the comedy drama Dunki. While Dunki, delivering just in Hindi, has proactively earned Rs 7.39 crore by selling 2,52,207 tickets for 9,681 shows cross country, Salaar has so far figured out how to hopefully figure out just Rs 6.01 crore across all dialects, as per industry tracker Sacnilk. 2,47,572 tickets for the 4,338 shows listed in the film have been sold.

Salaar's development booking business is overwhelmingly driven by its Telugu rendition, producing Rs 3.5 crore. In the meantime, on Monday, its Hindi version gained steam, bringing ticket sales to 36,097 and earning Rs 1.1 million. 65,809 tickets worth Rs. 98 lakh have been sold for 905 shows in the Malayalam version of Salaar, while 9,446 tickets worth Rs. 12 lakh have been sold for the Tamil and Kannada versions, respectively.

Dunki marks Shah Rukh Khan's third delivery this year, following the huge progress of Siddharth Anand's Pathaan and Atlee Kumar's Jawan, the two of which procured over Rs 1,000 crore worldwide. On account of Prabhas, whose last couple of deliveries neglected to make any effect in the cinematic world, Salaar holds huge significance as denoting his victorious comeback is expected.

Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, Boman Irani, and Vikram Kochhar all play important roles in Hirani's Dunki, which is based on the idea of Donkey Flight, an unconventional way to enter countries like the United Kingdom, Canada, and the United States. Aside from Prabhas and Prithviraj, Neel's Salaar likewise includes Shruti Hassan, Jagapathi Babu, Bobby Simha, and Tinnu Anand.
