From March, Thailand and China will permanently waive visa requirements for each other's citizens

BANGKOK: Thailand and China will for all time defer visa prerequisites for one another's residents from Spring, Thai State leader Srettha Thavisin said on Tuesday.

Southeast Asia's second-biggest economy, which depends vigorously on the travel industry, in September deferred passage necessities for Chinese vacationers until February this year.

"This will update the connection between the two nations," Srettha told correspondents.

In 2023, Thailand invited 28 million unfamiliar vacationers, somewhat over its objective, producing 1.2 trillion baht ($34.93 billion) of income, government information showed.

Of that, the top source market was Malaysia with 4.5 million guests, trailed by 3.5 million appearances from China.

That contrasted and a pre-Coronavirus record of 39 million appearances with 11 million from China.
