Instagram launches dedicated iPad app and also tests picture-in-picture video for reels

Instagram has launched a dedicated app for iPad which improves on the existing iPhone compatible app. The iPad users always have complained about the instagram app being small and not usable. Meta has launched this iPad app after 13 years after acquiring Instagram for $1billion.
Instagram is also testing the waters with picture-in-picture videos for reels. This mode of video is famous with WhatsApp, X, Youtube Shorts and other platforms. Instagram has been missing this important feature for a while. Our analysts say that this will increase the engagement within the app and lead to more content consumption. Most of the social media apps are tracked on MAU and DAU which means monthly active users and daily active users respectively.
This new feature is being rolled out to users on the wild while the new iPad app is available for all. The new improvements on the instagram apps mean one thing - Meta is increasing its focus more on the photo sharing app more than ever. One has to note that there were major discussions about TikTok ban a few months back.
