India’s Neeru Dhanda won the women’s trap gold medal at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games on 29 September 2026, Moneycontrol reported. The outlet put her final score at 28 from 30, ahead of silver medallist Yunong Sun on 26.
The reported victory follows a World Cup breakthrough earlier in 2026. In a 30 July statement, India’s Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports identified Dhanda as the first Indian woman to win trap gold at an ISSF World Cup, following her victory in Lonato, Italy.
Her recent record also includes an Asian Championship title. The International Shooting Sport Federation’s athlete profile lists her first-place finish in women’s trap at the 2025 Asian Championships in Shymkent, alongside her 2026 Lonato World Cup win.
