Some appliance brands in India plan price rises from 1 October 2026, but the change is not uniform across products or stores. An Economic Times report drawing on PTI interviews describes different start dates, while dealers may still sell stock bought before the increases.
Which changes are planned?
LG Electronics India said in a company statement reported by Moneycontrol that its air conditioners would rise 5–7% from 1 October. It had not decided on price changes for other LG products. Haier outlined a roughly 5% room-AC increase from 1 October and separately plans 2–3% increases for TVs and washing machines. A Godrej Appliances executive said prices across categories could rise 5–7%, with some brands acting in October and others in November.
Other brands are on different schedules. Daikin said it had raised AC prices 8–10% on 16 September. Super Plastronics plans a TV increase of about 7% after October. Panasonic said it was still assessing whether to raise prices.
What might buyers see?
Godrej said some dealers had built up inventory at earlier prices, which could keep older-priced products available during part of the festive season. A company’s announced percentage does not establish the checkout price of every model. Store stock and offers can make the timing differ.
